Weeds or Wildflowers

I love daisies and dandelions, even though they are very often regarded as weeds I think they bring so much joy.
I know that if you have a pristine lawn the last thing you may want is a carpet of these flowers but I would rather look at these and other wildflowers any time.
They are really worth a closer look too as there is so much beauty in the detail.

Poppy

The  other day my neighbour called to say that the poppies in her front garden were fully opened so i nipped round to get a few shots.

They are really beautiful specimens with vibrant colours and light delicate petals.

As well as the poppy there was a lone dandelion seed head and lit from behind by the evening sun I think it looks stunning.

Different Perspective

Canon 100mm f/1:2.8   ISO 100   f/3.5    1/100 sec

I have said it before that although the Dandelion is generally considered a weed it really depends on your perspective and these two shots demonstrate that they really are beautiful wild flowers.

I love the bold yellow and the shape of the petals with the crimped ends and the sugary pollen. Either individually or as a mass display they really don't deserve to be dismissed so easily.
