Dead Wood, Hidden Faces

These pieces of dead wood are I think the remnants of old gorse, there are thousands of scraps that litter the heathland floor.

I think they create interesting shapes and if you look closely you will see something different. In colour I don't think they are quite as interesting or well defined but in black and white you can see much more depth and texture.

I wonder whether you see what I see...

In the first two images I see a sleeping dragon and in the third image I see the face of Angry Yoda (from Star Wars of course) or perhaps one of the Gremlins from the movie of the same name.

Carnevale

Here is another Reflection of Venice.

My visit to the city was a week before the famous Carnevale when the city comes alive with people in costumes and masks and it is a non-stop round of balls and parties. I was a little disappointed to miss it but having spoken to a local shop keeper perhaps I wouldn't have enjoyed it completely. The city is packed with visitors and I think I prefer the quiet of the city as it was

I have called this photo Carnevale because when I look at it I can see lots of faces or masks and it seems fitting for the season.

How many faces can you find?

Venetian Gold

Here is another of my series of abstract reflections.

This one was shot in Venice.

I love the liquid gold that is light reflected early morning sunlight captured between the blue on one side of the image and the green on the other.

I think it is possible to see a face in the image, maybe a face hidden behind a mask which is fitting really as this was taken while Venice was preparing for its' famous mask festival.
