In The Scullery
I have a thing for jugs! Yes I have said it, I have a thing for jugs. I can't explain it but there is something about them, especially pottery jugs that I love. I have several really nice ones that I have collected on my travels and no doubt I will pick up a few more in the future.
These shots were taken in what I think was the scullery at Erddig and I really like how the jugs look on the window sills, especially in black and white. I have made a print of the first image and framed it to display at home, it looks great.

Day 5: Salzburg
So after a long drive, stoppping off to watch the tail end of the eclipse and a brief visit to the village of F'ing we arrived in Salzburg, the mountains look amazing and we are looking forward to exploring the city tomorrow.
For today's blog I have managed to find another shop window bunny. In fact I found two but I've saved the second one for tomorrow.
I thought the name above the clock was worth preserving, it is above a jewellers shop here in Salzburg.
The final picture is the sign for the street our hotel is on.
By the way the third picture in yesterday's blog was a triple barrelled mouse trap. It looks like a very effective bit of engineering, no humane traps for me I want to get one of these.

All The Small Things #6
I bought this jug from a potter in Provins, a medieval town in The Seine et Marne region of France. There was a matching jug, slightly larger but I could not afford both. Several years later I was back in the town and visited the pottery again, the larger jug was still for sale and the potter remembered me and the discussion we had during my first visit. I now have both jugs and they make a lovely pair. I also bought several decorative tiles with traditional patterns and the lovely dark glaze, they made lovely gifts, at least I thought so.
I like the shape and colour and form of the jugs and I have focused on the spout and the lip of the judge because I find them really aesthetically pleasing.
This is the last of the "small things" series, for now anyway, I hope that you have found them enjoyable and/or interesting.
