On The Rocks
Today's selection shows a few of the rock formations along the walk around Cwm Idwal. I am always interested in the structure and form of rocks in the landscape and even small formations as in the first picture can be interesting subjects for photography.

Jurassic Coast
The Dorset coast is known as the Jurassic Coast due the the large number of fossils discovered there. These shots are from Lulworth Cove which is a really popular spot. I didn't find any fossils but I spent some time getting some good photos.
As you can see the water in the cove was really calm but outside it was a bit more choppy. The tide had turned and was on its way out so i think the waves crashing on the rocks were not as spectacular as they could be when the tide is coming in.

Over the Dee
So a real feast of photos today in this the last in the current series of shots from Hilbre Island.
I picked these pictures for the dramatic sky and the depth of colours on the rocks. I also love the reflections in the creeks and pools of the light coming through the clouds. All of these pictures show how wonderful this area is and how lucky I am to have this on my doorstep.

I Like Lichen...
Today's pictures from my walk on Saturday are different to the ones which will follow over the next few days in that while the others will all be of the wider landscape these focus on the things we don't tend to notice.
The first is of a small cluster of lichen and moss which were growing in the shelter of a small cleft in some rock. This was taken using my Canon 100mm macro lens. Pictures 2 & 3 are of lichen growing on the side of a rock at the edge of a fast flowing stream.
