The Dell

I am sticking with a watery theme for today with this shot looking  upstream towards the waterfall at Bodnant  Gardens. I was stood on the bridge looking down at the falls for the abstract pictures I shared a few days ago.

I knew as I walked along by the stream that I wanted to get this shot and I had to position my tripod on some stepping stones mid-stream to get it using another long exposure and my variable ND filter. I have also tweaked some of the colours in lightroom to add vibrancy to the overall image and I am very pleased with the results.

A retrospective...

The eagle eyed among you will probably realise that the pictures I have chosen today are ones that I have posted previously.  Why when I have so many pictures to share have I done this?  you might ask, good question I would reply...

I recently submitted these two pictures for entry to the Williamson Art Gallery Open Exhibition, they were accepted and this evening I have been to see them hanging in the gallery.  This is the first time I have entered my pictures into anything and so it gave me a real buzz to see them well presented with the work of other keen photographers around Wirral.

The exhibition is open until 10th May so hopefully lots of visitors will get to see the pictures, I think they look great and so I wanted to share them with you again.

Tomorrow I will be back with more of my road trip pictures.

Bolton Abbey

Breakfast Time

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones too

Stepping stones in wood

Around the river bend

So today I have a small selection of pictures from my early morning walk around Bolton Abbey, the day after the balloon pics from the previous post.

I love the early morning, it was such a peaceful time with just a couple of dog walkers sharing the morning before the day trippers arrived.  It was quite misty and there was little colour to the sky but even so I think I captured the essence of the English country morning (at least I hope so!)

I think my favourite image here is the stepping stones in wood.  Let me know which is your favourite. . .
