Wood

So, I have no idea how you will see these images but I have played around with the original versions to create these pictures.

I saw the dead branch and, to me, it resembled a dragon's head which I thought was pretty cool (either that or a freaky deer's skull, which given I was in a deer park would be appropriate).

I took the original colour images, converted them to black and white and cropped them and messed around with curves. As I say I don't know what you will see, I like the way they look but have no idea what colour tones are there or if they work for someone with normal colour vision. I would be interested to know what you think.

Weathered Wood

I really like this image, it is so satisfying. I like the contours, colours and textures. It was quite unexpected to see it to be honest and I wasn't sure how it would look but I really think the image works well.

Like a Rock

Four new pictures for today continuing the theme of texture and from these images you can see a range of very different textures and colours.

The first one resembles crocodile skin and the second has a rock like quality to it. The third picture to me at least has the appearance of embossed or cracked leather and the final image looks a bit like rust streaked metal. Of course these are very subjective views and you might see something different.  That however is the beauty of images such as these because apart from the objective fact that they are all pictures of different types of bark different people will see them in different ways.  Whatever you see I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Old Wood

These two fence posts have clearly seen better days but while they may be past their best with regard to their original purpose to me they stand out.  I love the textures of the rotting wood, the moss and the worn colours.

I also like the way the shape of the screw in the first post has been preserved while all of the wood surrounding it has rotted away
