Kaleidoscope
Today is a return to something abstract. This is another shot of ripples and reflections from Burton Mere over the recent Easter weekend.
In most of the reflections shots I have taken I have used a fast shutter speed to give a smooth final image but here I have used a slightly longer exposure to create a more wispy effect. I quite like this, how about you???

Barnacle Heart
Regular visitors to my blog will know that I have a thing for hearts in nature and whenever they appear I am sure to photograph them. Of course then they end up here in the hope that others will see them and appreciate them just as much as me.
Here are some links to a few previous posts on this theme (Pebble , Beetle , Fern ) and as you can see they turn up in some unexpected places.
Today's heart is a small colony of barnacles clinging to the rocks at the base of a cliff exposed by the retreating tide. It is an unusual sight and although perhaps not the most stunning photo it is interesting nonetheless.

Low Tide #2
Three more pictures from the beach at low tide. I have more to share over the next couple of days.
These are more of the posts exposed by the receding waters with a view across the Dee to North Wales. You can also see the weather front approaching from the right bringing sleet and rain.
I think these pictures work well in either colour or black and white but I think picture two is more atmospheric. Let me know what you think...
