Rushing By

These are cropped from the same image of the river Glaslyn rushing past and over some rocks.

I have used a long exposure to slow the motion of the water and it has produced these wonderful abstract images where the water looks like hair or perhaps like brush strokes of oil on canvas.

I rather like these pictures and hope you do too.

Why The Rush...

Tomorrow I will get back to posting pictures of birds but I just wanted to share this shot of a rush in full seed. I love the wispy, fluffiness of this plant growing on the waters' edge. It was quite a windy day so it took a few attempts to capture a sharp image as the grasses and rushes were blowing about so much.

I really like this image and hope you do too.

Not your average cow...

These beautiful cattle are Banteng, a rare species of forest dwelling cattle from south East Asia.

Fortunately I didn't have to travel that far to see them as there is a small and growing herd of them at Chester Zoo. The adult is clearly not interested in me but the calf was definitely posing.
