Evening Sun
So tonight I am sharing a selection of pictures captured using my mobile phone.
I had gone for a walk after dinner to try and clear my head after a couple of stressful days. It was quite cool due to the strong wind but the scenery was beautiful as the sun was setting across Liverpool Bay and although I was walking quite fast I couldn't ignore the wonderful views and it certainly helped to release some of the stress.
I'm so lucky to live so close to the sea and we get a lot of fantastic sunsets just like this.
Walking away from the seafront I noticed the moon reflecting the last of the sunlight creating what I think is a pink and blue sky. I know that I may very well be wrong about the colours but whatever the colours this is a beautiful sky and a beautiful end to my day.

Autumnal City
There is a definite feel of autumn as the evenings get dark much earlier, the mornings are starting to become frosty and of course the leaves are falling from the trees.
Even in a big city like London that feeling is still there. There are lots of green spaces where colours have changed and the trees are looking bare.
On my walk to work I pass a book/gift shop. It is the Mother's Union shop in Mary Sumner House and the autumn themed window display caught my eye. I love the cascading leaves and it looks really effective lit up at night.
The second of today's pictures was taken on my walk back along Victoria Embankment and again I think there is an autumnal feel, with the lighting, the trees of course the leaves on the ground and the couple wrapped in warm coats.

Beautiful Blue Heron
I haven't posted anything for a few days with going out to gigs and going camping (in spite of the weather) and so I haven't really had an opportunity. I couldn't think what to post and so browsing through my folders I came across this shot of a Blue Heron. I really like this shot, it was early evening and I love the way the evening sun was lighting up the reeds in the background. It was quite a lucky shot too as I almost walked past the small break in the reeds surrounding the lake, and I am reminded that I have to keep my eyes open all the time for great photo opportunities.
There was something quite mesmerising watching this beautiful bird standing so still and reflected in the calm water. I could have stayed for a long time watching it but as the light was fading I had to move on.

Ringed Plover
Keeping the wildlife theme going for a second day I have chosen this lovely shot of a Ringed Plover which I spotted on our first evening in Thunder Bay. We had gone up to a spot called Boulevard Lake, a pleasant recreation area on the outskirts of the city. It was a lovely calm evening and there were several people out, walking their dogs, playing disc golf or just out for an evening stroll. I nearly left my camera behind but seeing that the evening light was so good I figured there might be some good photo opportunities and I wasn't disappointed. I managed to get some good shots of some wading birds and a beautiful Blue Heron so keep coming back for more...
