Mountain Stream
Yesterday's post was going to be my last from my visit to Snowdonia last weekend but then I decided to post this last shot.
I love the shape of Pen Yr Ole Wen and the shadow of Tryfan cast by the low sun.

Icicles
These icicles have been formed from water splashing from a mountain stream onto an overhanging branch of heather. The rocks are glistening with ice too.

Making a Splash
I was going to post a picture of a cascade from a mountain stream for today but even though it was a good picture it wasn't that special. However when I looked closer I saw the bright spots of light and the swirls in the water which create these wonderful abstract images.

More Views of Y Garn
Two more views of Y Garn today and the final image of the stream which flows from Llyn Idwal down to Llyn Ogwen here as it cascades at the bottom of the valley.
It was a beautiful day and so the blue sky helps to frame the mountains and scenery. I loved being here and I hope you can enjoy this beautiful landscape from the pictures above.

Y Garn and Foel Gogh
Two more pictures today from my recent day out with my daughter in Snowdonia. I love being outdoors and I know that walking in this type of terrain is not for everyone so I was particularly pleased that my daughter pushed herself. We were certainly rewarded with good weather and some stunning views.

6 views of Pen yr Ole Wen
Here is another selection of images from Saturday's walk in Snowdonia.
Having walked up to the path which leads around Llyn Idwal I stopped to take the first 3 images above, I actually set up the camera on my tripod in the river to get the angle that I wanted, I think it paid off because I am really pleased with these shots.
Pen yr Ole Wen is the southern most peak of the Carneddau and stands at 978m. Walking around the lake there were several good vantage points to capture the reflection of the peak and at times the lake was mirror calm so I was able to get some near perfect images. As well as the sharp reflections I love the way the wispy clouds are rising through the valley in the centre of the first few images.
I've been walking in this area many times but looking at these pictures I realised that I have never actually walked in the Carneddau and I guess that I will have to plan an excursion one of these days.
