I have said it before, I really like Cow Parsley. There is something about the structure that is so eye catching whether in the summer when it is in full bloom or in the winter when all you see is the skeleton of the plant.
The flowers are so delicate and they are a magnet for all manner of pollinators.
From just about any angle they make for a great image.
I called today's post nature's jewels because I think these lovely delicate flowers are like earings. They also resemble little birds or perhaps colourful flying fish.
They are really delicate and small and easily overlooked but well worth a closer look to see the speckled pink flowers nestled against the lush green foliage.
The plant is a variety of LAMIACEAE called Bollota pseudo-dictamus that goes by the common name of False Dittany.
I spotted these tiny flowers growing against the bottom of a wall in the shade of some climbing roses. I'd love to be able to tell you what they are but I haven't been able to identify them so if you know what they are please leave a comment below.
Whatever they are they are really beautiful with such an interesting design, in the first image it sort of resembles a cartoon duck, at least I think it does so maybe that says something about the way my mind works.

I didn't post anything yesterday as I was feeling out of sorts and couldn't really get motivated to choose a picture to share. I'm still not feeling great but I didn't want to let another day go by in case I fall into a bad habit.
I wanted to share something bright and colourful and something that tells us spring is here, and something that will lift my spirits and hopefully yours too.
These beautiful Forget Me Nots were captured on my recent visit to the walled garden at Royden Park. I hadn't noticed until I posted the image that the central nodes around the centre of the middle flower are white whereas those on the other flowers in this shot are all yellow.
These two pictures are of plants that were right next to each other in the shelter of a stack of cut timber.
My eye was caught by the bright white flowers which stood out in the forest where there was so little brightness but then I was struck by the intricate structure of the second plant where all of the petals have fallen exposing the delicate stems and succulent buds.
