Standing Tall
So today I am down in London with my daughter for a bit of daddy/daughter time and it's great. I may feel it tomorrow though, after all I'm not as young as i sometimes like to think I am.
Anyway I'm sure it will be worth it.
I still have a moment to post a picture, this one was taken on Caldy beach earlier in the summer although it wasn't a very summery day.

White Lines...
Earlier this week I had to travel to a small village in Carmarthenshire in Wales for work. It was a long day but with 8 hours total driving time through some stunning scenery it didn't feel like work, but don't anyone tell my boss. Along the route I was excited to see lots of my favourite bird of prey, the beautiful Red Kite, but sadly I didn't get chance to photograph them.
I did however stop off at the little seaside village of Aberaeron and although the light was pretty poor I had a really good time taking pictures down on the beach and around the streets and harbour and as you can probably guess I will be sharing some of my favourite shots from the day. I am hoping that I have to go back to that area again in the new year and hopefully then the light will be better.
Today I have chosen this picture of a pebble, it really stood out with the lightning flashes which are not etched on the surface but run right through the stone. I think it looks really cool.

On The Beach
So today's offerings are from an early morning walk along the pebbled beach near Caernafon at the end of April. It is also a shout out to my brother-in-law Spence who on the day I was taking these pictures was, it turns out and unbeknownst to me, winning a competition stacking stones in Dunbar.
I think the first of today's pictures is one of my favourite shots of recent times. It took several attempts to get it right, I don't mean with getting the stones to stay upright, which in some ways was the easy part, but getting the angles right so that everything is lined up properly with the background was the real challenge, but I think I got it right and the overall effect is just right.
The next two shots are different views of the same pebble, in the first picture the stone is wet but in the second, even though it was very cold the morning sun had quickly dried it and so the colours are slightly different. I really liked this particular pebble and put it in my pocket as a keepsake.
