All The Small Things #2
My selection for day two of small things is this pot of pencils.
Not long after we moved into the house my neighbour gave me a triangular pot of pencils which are wrapped in a decorative paper. I have never wanted to use the pencils because as a whole they are really aesthetically pleasing but if I were to use any of them it would lose much of its' appeal. It is in a way a practical example of the Gestalt theory "The whole is other than the sum of the parts"
I tried these pictures in black and white but in doing so lost all the warmth of the wood and paper so stuck with the original colour shots.
I hope you like these pictures and that you will come back tomorrow for the next installment...
